The
Somatotype
Web Project ©2001 |
What is a Somatotype? A somatotype is "a quantitative description of the present shape and composition of the human body". (Carter, J.E.L., and Heath, B.H. (1990) "Somatotyping - Development and Applications". Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. pp.15) While defining the shape of the human body has a long history, we used the Heath-Carter method to establish the somatotypes on these web pages.
